General Prohibitions and Guidelines Food and Drink: Bringing any type of food, meat, or alcoholic beverages is prohibited. Behavior: Sexual intercourse is prohibited. No killing of animals. Access and Interaction: Women are prohibited from climbing the highest pagoda. Women are prohibited from drawing water or touching the sacred well. Women must wear a sarong or long skirt when paying respects to the pagoda. Women are prohibited from entering the pagoda and sacred objects while menstruating. Overnight Accommodation: Men and women are prohibited from staying together, and married couples are prohibited from sharing rooms. Other Etiquette: Profanity is prohibited. Remove your shoes before paying respects to the pagoda. This video tells the story of the journey from the evening of January 17, 2025. 18/01/2025 ~ Approximately 4:00 AM: Stop at a gas station to wash your face and brush your teeth. Then, stop at the morning market to buy sticky rice and pork skewers. Then, board a 4x4 pickup truck and cross into Myanmar. The journey takes 3 hours. The route is quite challenging. Please bring a mask or buff, as there's a lot of dust. ~ 10:00-11:00 AM: Arrive at the tent site, a distance of approximately 2 km. It's an easy, non-steep walk. ~ 12:00 PM: Set up your tent, have lunch (the first vegetarian meal), relax at your leisure, and I'll take some photos. ~ 2:00 PM: You can go up to pay respects at the chedi, but you must dress appropriately. Women must wear a sarong or tube skirt. (The temple has tents available for rent for 20 Thai baht.) 4:30 PM: Enjoy sunset viewing at the tent site. 5:30 PM: Dinner (at the canteen). At night, go stargazing (if the sky is clear) and then go to sleep. January 19, 2025 5:30 AM: Wake up early to watch the sunrise at the tent site. 7:00 AM: Breakfast (2nd meal at the vegetarian canteen). 8:00 AM: Pack up and prepare to return to Thailand. 11:00 AM: Arrive in Thailand, shower, and take care of personal business. 12:00 PM: Stop for lunch at Phop Phra Market (at your own expense). 1:00 PM: Return to Bangkok. 5:00 PM: Stop for dinner in Nakhon Sawan (at your own expense).
