Bozeman to Helena Montana RV Adventure: Boondocking, Worst City Ever & Creepy Midnight Encounter! 🚐✨
After weeks exploring the stunning landscapes of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, Ash and Jay roll into Bozeman, Montana for some much-needed downtime. With e-bike charging and keeping the power station topped off as top priorities, they finally hit a Planet Fitness for their first real workout in over a month. The relief of getting back into the gym after so much time on the road is real! From there, the adventure continues as they head to the beautiful Copper City Recreation Area for several days of peaceful boondocking. Surrounded by nature and enjoying the freedom of full-time RV life, this stop offers the perfect reset before pushing further north through Montana. But things take a sharp turn when they arrive in Helena, Montana — hands down the worst city we have ever visited. From the very beginning, the locals come across as incredibly rude and disheveled. The Planet Fitness in Helena is filthy, with people leaving weights scattered everywhere and walking away without wiping down machines. Even worse, multiple times we witnessed disgusting bathroom habits — people leaving stalls and heading straight out without washing their hands. It wasn’t a one-off; this behavior was consistent across the town and left us shocked. Hoping to escape the city vibes, we found what looked like a great boondocking spot just outside of Helena. Unfortunately, nonstop rain for days turned the area into a muddy mess and made it impossible to fully enjoy the location. Just when we thought things couldn’t get weirder, a Charles Manson-looking character pulled up at midnight and parked right next to us in our isolated spot — even though there was plenty of open space elsewhere. For safety, we made the tough decision to pack up and leave immediately before any altercation could happen. Once the rain finally stopped and our Class C RV was back from service, we gave Helena one more chance by exploring the downtown area. Sadly, the city was dirty everywhere we looked — overflowing trash cans on nearly every corner and graffiti defacing historical landmarks that should have been beautiful. It was a huge disappointment after the natural beauty we had just left behind in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Despite the rough experiences in Helena, we’re thrilled to be back on the road heading further north and can’t wait to share more of our unfiltered full-time RV travels with you. From epic national park adventures to real talk about boondocking challenges and everything in between, Ash and Jay keep it authentic. Thanks for getting away with Ash and Jay — we appreciate every single one of you riding along with us. New video dropping soon as we continue exploring the American West! 🏔️🚐 #BozemanMontana #HelenaMontana #RVLife #Boondocking #FullTimeRV #MontanaTravel #AshAndJay #YellowstoneToMontana #RVAdventure #WorstCity
