How to make a Harness with a Rope
During my deployment in Latvia, Italian Alpini Mountain Troops showed me how to tie an Improvised Harness for rappelling. This is a great alternative to the "Swiss Seat" used in Ranger School and Air Assault School. It is also a LOT MORE COMFORTABLE. This improvised harness offers the advantage of having a multi-use rope as opposed to having an actual climbing harness which has a single purpose and takes a lot more space in the rucksack.
