Therapy Intake Interviews
In this brief video I share some key points about the initial assessment/therapy process of conducting an intake session for beginning clinical interviewers. I frame the discussion around two crucial themes of building rapport and collecting data. While there is enormous variety in the styles and goals of intake sessions, I'm focusing my suggestions here on what would be most relevant for those conducting routine outpatient psychotherapy/counseling and who are newer students to the field.
