Les Géants De La Tech Empoisonnent Nos Esprits - Anne Alombert
Share your thoughts with Anne Alombert on our website: https://www.pensercestchouette.com/de... Anne Alombert is a philosopher and lecturer in contemporary philosophy at Paris 8 University. She focuses on the challenges of digital technologies. She is the author of "Digital Schizophrenia" (Allia, 2023) and co-author, with Gaël Giraud, of "The Capital I Am Not" (Fayard, 2024). According to Anne Alombert, by delegating our "know-how to write" to AI, we are delegating our "know-how to think" and, like workers dispossessed of their skills by machines, we find ourselves proletarianized. This “generalized proletarianization,” a concept borrowed from the late Bernard Stiegler, would render us incapable of conceiving of other tools and imagining another world, just as the worker of his time, stripped of his skills, had no choice but to work on assembly lines. Anne Alombert urges us to act before this happens, by creating, while we still have the means, other tools imbued with a worldview focused on human progress and not solely on short-term profit. In short, she invites us to resist the tech giants who are poisoning our minds. 00:00 Introduction 03:00 Technology is a pharmakon 06:30 The ancients criticized technology before the digital age 10:40 Weren't the ancients' criticisms simply nostalgia? 14:15 What is the political ideology behind current technologies? 20:20 Are these perhaps the technologies that people want? 24:00 Is the materialization of transhumanist ideology in new technologies intentional? 27:25 Are the tech giants sawing off the branch they're sitting on? 32:00 Beyond social networks and generative AI, are there other technologies that worry you? 35:18 Platforms are leading us toward widespread proletarianization. 47:20 Is it so bad to no longer know how to think? 55:45 The transhumanist world will never exist. 1:05:10 Are technologies the main cause of the declining birth rate? 1:11:30 What would be the ideal technologies? 1:23:30 How do we win the battle for attention? 1:38:00 Why is there an urgent need for action?
