Scapegoating is a form of abuse (i.e., verbal, emotional, social). It can cause you to feel blamed for every manner of evil in your family. Scapegoating has been defined, by laymen, as "scapegoating syndrome" because of the pattern of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that is often associated with being abused or bullied within a family. Family mobbing is another concept that has been associated with scapegoating syndrome.
