Mehrabpur, Sindh. Its History: Mir Mehrab khan Talpur came here with his family members and other people of his clan decades ago from Khairpur. With the passage of time the name of this place became famous as Mehrabpur. Around 1782, two main tribes KHALHORO and TALPUR fought for ownership of this area. The land scape of Mehrabpor is very beautiful and attractive. Decades ago, Punjabi Abadgar, came here for the cultivation of the lands of Mehrabpor. They were villagers from different parts of the Punjab. Now they are essential part of the area and culture. Adminstration: It is a part of district Noshehru Feroz. It has 8 union councils.The names of its villages are: Balu Khara, Tharee, Hawaldar Charagh Din,Shafi Muhammad Gujrati, Bhati Village, Allah Dad Samito, Noor Muhammad Rajpur village, Haji Kheryo and Noor Muhammad Kheryo. Distances: The distance from Karachi to Mehrabpur is 500km i.e 5 to 6 hrs. The distance from Sukkaur Mehrabpor is 134 km i.e 2.5 hrs. The distance from GT road/Main Road to Mehrabpur city is 8 km. Geography: Mehrabpur is positioned in the fertile plains of Sindh, and its landscape is characterized by agricultural fields. The city is likely to have a relatively flat topography, typical of the region. Economy: Agriculture is a significant part of Mehrabpur's economy, with the surrounding areas being greatly involved in the cultivation of crops such as wheat, rice, and cotton. The city might serve as a local market hub for the agricultural produce of the region. Culture: Being in Sindh, Mehrabpur has a rich cultural heritage. Sindhi culture, with its distinct music, dance, and traditional attire, is prevalent. The residents celebrate various cultural festivals and events with enthusiasm. Transportation: Mehrabpur is connected by road to other major cities like Khairpur, Bhirya, Qazi Ahamd, Moro and Sukkur and other towns in the region. The transportation infrastructure includes roads and highways facilitating the movement of goods and people. It has a railway station established in 1914. Trains are available for upside for Rohri, and Lahore as well as towards downside for Hyderabad and Karachi. Education: The city has educational institutions ranging from primary schools to higher education facilities. Access to education is crucial for the development of any community, and Mehrabpur Administration has taken steps in this regard. Public and private education system is easily available for students.
