Traffic Police are often called to respond to seemingly minor incidents that actually pose a serious risk, as in this case. The operations center reports that, a few kilometers away, a pair of cyclists have been stopped. They decided to test their luck by taking the Milan highway at night in the rain. The two unconscious bikers have already been stopped by a patrol: they are non-EU citizens. They are carrying a backpack and a few personal belongings. Now they are sitting on the guardrail waiting for the officers to complete their checks at the terminal. Meanwhile, another officer, with a flashing light, signals trucks and cars to reduce speed. It's a risky maneuver: it's dark and the incessant rain has significantly reduced visibility. The cyclists were lucky; things could have been worse. Wet asphalt and high speeds can play nasty tricks. A moment's distraction can cause you to go off the road. Or even upside down, as happened to the woman driving this car. The police checked the car, and it was empty; the young woman must have already gotten out on her own.
