FOs, WIPs & a Knitting Rant… plus the Fit Trick That Changed Everything

🧶 FOs, WIPs, knitting rants & a little bit of travel ✨ In this video, I’m sharing what I’ve been working on lately — including some finished objects (FOs), works in progress (WIPs), and a few honest thoughts (okay… mild rants 😅) about knitting patterns and how they’re written. I’ve been experimenting with using ChatGPT to convert patterns into a more structured, tabulated format — and honestly, it’s been a game changer for how I read and follow instructions. We also dive into fit and body shape — something I care a lot about. As someone with sloped, narrow shoulders and a pear shape, I’ve been testing out adding shoulder pads into my knitted garments… and the difference is kind of amazing. Better fit, better proportions, and just overall more flattering. Plus: 🧵 Some beautiful yarns I picked up from Ireland ✈️ A quick recap of my recent 2-week trip to Portugal & Ireland It’s a bit of everything — knitting, experimenting, problem-solving, and a little life update along the way. Let me know if you’ve tried modifying patterns, or if you’ve ever gone down your own knitting rabbit hole 🐰 Happy knitting 💕 Follow me on Instagram:   / clare_likes_to_knit   Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/people/CSheng Chapters: 00:00 intro 00:38 Oslo Hat by Petite Knit 03:49 Daisy Shawl Cardigan by MonM 07:58 What I'm wearing - Lacy top 08:54 Gia Zipper by Sandnes Garn 10:29 Brunello Top I'm designing 12:17 My Buddy Wrap by Casuarina Girl 14:03 Using AI to organise knitting patterns 16:24 Rant alert 17:14 Solving my slopey shoulder issue - this changed everything 23:20 Acquisitions 27:13 Secret anouncement - Fruity Knitting 29:00 Life update - my European travels
