Deutsches Phonomuseum - Vom Edison-Phonograph zum HiFi-HighEnd-Plattenspieler - Reportage/Rundgang
With the introduction of the compact disc (CD) in 1981, the end of the turntable and the analog record actually began. In the meantime, many high-end music lovers swear by this old technology again and today countless turntables are manufactured again - including in Sankt Georgen in the Black Forest (Germany) - the former "stronghold" of turntable production and the seat of the German Phonomuseum. In this video report from the Deutsches Phonomuseum there is a foray from the first phonograph from 1878 to historical jukeboxes from the turn of the century, a gramphone with a disco ball, the beginnings of Dual-company and PE record players, the first record changers for the home, the heyday record player production in the 1960s / 1970s and the provisional end of the record player era up to the current record player renaissance of the present time. Helmut Mellert, restorer and workshop manager of the Deutsches Phonomuseum, showed and explained to me some interesting exhibits of this really worth seeing exhibition in Sankt Georgen on August 23, 2019. The German Phonomuseum is usually open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. I hope you enjoy this report!
