STMicroelectronics' Ang Mo Kio facility to house S'pore's largest industrial district cooling system
In another step to green the manufacturing sector, SP Group has inked a deal with global semiconductor company STMicroelectronics to install Singapore's largest industrial district cooling system at its local facility in Ang Mo Kio. The system is slated to cut up to 120,000 tonnes a year in carbon emissions -- equivalent to taking more than 109,000 cars off the road. When completed in 2025, there will be a centralised chiller plant to pipe in cool water to surrounding buildings and deliver the warmed water back to be rechilled.
