Ashwini is the first Nakshatra in the nakshatra mandal (although this status is given to Krittika in older texts). Ashwini is the first nakshatra of Aries sign and all its padas come under Aries only. Sun is considered exalted in 10 degrees of Aries which falls in Ashwini nakshatra. If you are born around Ram Navami, it is highly likely that you too were born with Sun in Ashwini, just like Bhagwan Ram. Ashwini is a Nakshatra of Ketu and its deities are Ashwini Kumars, the twin sons of Surya dev and Sanjana and hence, the brothers of Yamraj and Shani Dev.
