My Favorite Old Fashioned Cocktail for Summer Time

This might be my favorite Summer Old Fashioned recipe right now. If you're looking for a whiskey cocktail that's refreshing enough for a warm evening on the patio but still rich, decadent, and bourbon-forward, this recipe is worth trying. The secret? A combination of chocolate bitters, orange bitters, and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked that creates an Old Fashioned that lets the oak-forward depth of the bourbon come through with some added chocolate sweetness, while the orange bitters brighten everything up for a cocktail that pairs perfectly with dinner, grilling, or relaxing outside on a summer evening. SUMMER TIME OLD FASHIONED RECIPE: • 2 oz Woodford Reserve Double Oaked • 1/4–1/2 oz simple syrup • 2 dashes chocolate bitters • 1 dash orange bitters • Large ice cube • Orange peel garnish Stir gently, express the orange peel over the drink, and enjoy. If you don't have Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, you could try: Cooper's Craft Barrel Reserve Other oak-forward bourbons (Let me know in the comments what whiskey you tried and how it worked!) If you make this recipe, leave a comment and tell me what changes you made. I'm always looking for new Old Fashioned variations to try! 👍 Like the video if you enjoy whiskey cocktails 🔔 Subscribe for bourbon reviews, whiskey education, cocktail recipes, blind tastings, whiskey experiments, and budget bottle recommendations Want early access to barrel picks, bonus content, and the ability to submit questions for the podcast? 👉 Join the Whiskey Noobs Crew:   / whiskeynoobs   👉 Get Whiskey Noobs Merch: https://www.noobsmedia.com/ #OldFashioned #WhiskeyCocktail #BourbonCocktail #WoodfordReserve #WoodfordDoubleOaked #CocktailRecipe #SummerCocktails #WhiskeyRecipes #Bourbon #WhiskeyNoobs #ChocolateBitters #HomeBartender #ClassicCocktails #BourbonCocktails #OldFashionedRecipe
