Kwajalein Atoll, west reef mid atoll lagoon pinnacles

This video is from dives on lagoon pinnacles off Eller and Onemak Islands, Kwajalein Atoll, in 2016. The first part shows a pinnacle we call Tri-top, well out into the lagoon from Eller Island. It consists of rounded coral and sand mound that rises from the lagoon bottom to about 22 meters. On top of this mound are three steep-sided coral pinnacles that come up to within about 5m of the surface. The reef is washed by tidal currents from nearby Ambo Pass, enabling rich coral and fish life. The second part shows one of many pinnacles off Onemak Island, another rich area for coral and fish.
