Benjamin of Tudela: The Jewish Marco Polo

Benjamin of Tudela went on an arduous Journey from Europe to Asia about a hundred years before Marco Polo did. He recorded his journeys in his book Sefer Ha-Massaot (The Book of Travels), and it gives us several first hand accounts of the medieval world.
