Solero! First time trot under saddle.

Now that go, stop and steering are basically installed in walk after a couple of times riding, it’s time to try the trot. The original plan was to get some help from the ground, but he is just so relaxed and motivated, that I tried on my own. The first times I just initiate the trot and the give a big praise the moment he starts. He doesn’t have to trot a long time, it’s just about the transition and staying calm. This is why he is allowed to stop and gets a treat. If it feels right, I repeat that a couple of times, prolonging the trot a couple of strides. It’s all about small steps, not pushing the horse over the limit. Trust and calmness has safety as a result.
