In this episode, Modern luxury takes on a quieter form in this penthouse, where our founders, Alicia and Eugene, embraced the calming philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. More than just aesthetics, this home is an exploration of restraint, texture, and stillness, designed to create emotional ease in a fast-paced city like Singapore. With a muted, earthy palette as the foundation, we introduced high-end finishes in subtle, intentional ways. Marble surfaces, brushed metal fixtures, and seamless matte cabinetry that add refinement without overwhelming the senses. The real star of this home, however, lies in its lighting. Ingrained into the architecture rather than layered on top of it, lighting here plays a sculptural role. LED strips tucked under cabinetry, concealed coves along the ceiling, and sleek pin-style sconces illuminate the space with gentle warmth. Texture is key to grounding the design, paying homage of to the true Wabi-Sabi belief. From the raw tactility of concrete-inspired surfaces to the softness of warm wood tones, every finish was chosen to complement the Wabi-Sabi spirit. Even the use of mirrors was purposeful, not to create showiness, but to quietly extend space and invite in more light. This penthouse is a study in modern serenity.
