Marco Sanfilippo, known to everyone as Mifrà, has been writing and rapping since he was little more than a child. For years, music has been his goal, his refuge, and the language through which he tries to understand what's inside him. Behind the rapper, however, lies the story of a man who grew up in close contact with illness and loss. A man who in 2007 received a phone call that would tear his life in two: his brother Alessio, his music partner and best friend, was no longer with us. From that moment on, Marco tried to be strong for everyone, but the unresolved pain returned through panic attacks. The most immediate response was medication, then another drop, then another, until he developed an addiction to benzodiazepines that slowly changed his character, his energy, and his relationship with life. In this episode, Marco recounts his detox, his time in a specialized facility, his withdrawal, the days when he couldn't get out of bed, and his return home, where his wife accompanied him, one small step at a time, to reconnect with everyday life. But this isn't just the story of an addiction. It's the story of a rebirth, of therapy, of fatherhood, of rediscovered music, and of the realization that emotions don't always have to be fought: sometimes you have to learn to move through them.
