The Different Classes and Sizes of REAPERS in Mass Effect
So, from the universe of the Mass effect games and stories, the Reapers are those giant, super-advanced machines that are also partly made from living beings, which means they are biomechanical entities. They look like huge space squids and they have different classes or types within their collective, they can be as small as a big building or larger than a mountain. Each Reaper is actually made from billions of minds from various ancient species, all fused together inside a powerful machine body and collective. See, long ago, a billion years ago, a powerful alien race called the Leviathans ruled this galaxy and they thrived for eons. At a certain point in time, they decided to create a super-intelligent AI to solve a problem, which is the inevitable conflict between organic life and sentient machines. But this AI decided the best way to “solve” this problem was to control everything forever, including the Leviathans. It turned against its creators, wiping most of them out, and used their bodies and minds to build the first Reaper, which is known as the Harbinger. After that, more and more Reapers were created over millions of years by repeating the same process with other species, by harvesting them once they reach a certain threshold. The Reapers believe they are protecting life in a strange and scary way. They think that if organic life keeps growing and building machines, those machines will eventually wipe out all organics. So, to stop that from happening, the Reapers wipe out advanced civilizations every 50,000 years. This is called the “harvest.” They let species grow and become advanced using tools like the Citadel and mass relays, which the Reapers secretly built, then they return and destroy them. But they don’t just kill them, they actually turn them into new Reapers, preserving their minds in machine form. In their view, this is a kind of twisted “immortality.” Their end goal is to keep this cycle going forever, believing it’s the only way to maintain balance in the galaxy and stop total extinction, even though it causes endless destruction. And over the course of countless ages, they have grown in numbers and power, with many different classes of Reapers being created to fulfill their endgame. And so, that comes to the reason why we made this video, and that is to explore the different types of reapers, foot soldiers, constructs and drones and most of all we will look at how big they can be ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FAIR-USE COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER * Copyright Disclaimer under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, commenting, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
