How to Stop Mouth Breathing 👃 😮 WATCH THIS!
Breathing through your nose can help filter out dust and allergens, boost your oxygen uptake, immunity, and humidify the air you breathe, but did you know that it could also improve your 👉 posture? Mouth breathing can be especially detrimental for children, creating fascial development issues. When the maxilla is not well developed, and the face is long and skinny, the eye sockets do not develop properly; the eyeballs cannot develop as a sphere but may take on a football shape 👀. The development of the jaws starts at birth with breastfeeding. This leads to proper tongue posture which is essential for the development of the cranium, eye socket, nasal septum and posture. Nose breathing is beneficial primarily because it allows your nasal cavities to: ▪reduce exposure to foreign substances ▪humidify and warm inhaled air ▪increase airflow to arteries, veins, and nerves ▪increase oxygen uptake and circulation ▪slow down breathing ▪improve lung volume ▪help your diaphragm work properly ▪lower your risk of allergies and hay fever Two studies published in the PLOS One Journal noted small, yet consistent strength gains in subjects with an adjusted lower jaw, and improved symmetry in running patterns amongst participants. Researchers from the University of Turin examined the effect of the jaw's angle on spinal alignment. Their study, published in the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology confirmed a forward sway of the spine. The result of the first study showed that alterations in alignment of the teeth were related to poorer control of standing balance. The second study showed that balance improved in patients when their bad bites were corrected. It was also noted that the correction of malocclusions had a greater impact on posture and balance when the patients were fatigued versus when they were well-rested. When referring to the jaw, the joint that is in question is the temporomandibular joint (or TMJ). In the condyle of that bone, you will find the meniscus which helps cushion and position the mandible while chewing or swallowing. When your jaw joint moves backward, the meniscus moves forward. How to get rid of jaw pain or tight jaw? In cases of jaw imbalances, the jaw joint moves unevenly on each side of the mouth causing one size to receive more tension than the other. This can cause the meniscus to suffer premature damage, leading to painful symptoms of temporomandibular disorder and postural misalignment(bad posture).
