Amplifier ALPS Volume Potentiometer Replacement, Sound Drop Issue Repair - Retfurb Audio Refurb

In this video we take a look at an early 1990's Sony F670ES stereo amplifier, Which is having issues with sound dropping out on the left channel. We know the fault is down to the POT, As we previously attempted to clean it in an earlier video. This clean with De-Oxit helped for a short time, But unfortunately the issue came back again. The problem with these sort of Potentiometers, Are they they are well sealed from the factory. So you can only get it open so far, Without causing damage to it. So now it is time to replace the ALPS type Potentiometer, With a new compatible part. We will disassemble the unit, to allow access to the components. We can then show how to replace the part and rectify the issue it is having with sound. The F670ES comes from Sony's high end ES range of systems. The ES range is considered the best of the best of what Sony has to offer.
