I actually highly recommend learning realistic drawing first, and in the order shown in this video. But if that's too difficult for you, then learning to draw from what you enjoy is more than enough. Because what I'm sharing isn't necessarily 100% accurate; it's just my understanding from years of drawing. Besides, if you follow this video and end up being lazy about drawing, that's not a good idea. So don't hold yourself back from creating and working.
