Concepts in Glaze Thickness and Application ( part 21 of Free Online Glaze Course)
This video is 21 in the Free Online Glaze Course on this Channel. (Self- directed) It covers Concepts in Glaze Thickness and Application. Determining glaze slop thickness in the bucket with specific gravity or just my eye. Then it covers viscosity using a Zahn Cup. This is shown by measuring viscosity of a water, a glaze, a deflocculated glaze and a flocculated glaze. Then the most important thing is how thick the glaze is on your pottery and that is determined several ways, a needle tool to check, a optical loop, or a micrometer. Finally getting the correct thickness can also be achieved by determining gram per square inch. So that is shown samples. Enjoy. Had a slight glitch toward the end and had to move the camera.
