Jesus: The Source of Ultimate Victory | John 12:12–50

In John 12:12–50, Jesus enters Jerusalem as King, but not the kind of king many expected. The crowd welcomed Him with palm branches and shouts of “Hosanna,” hoping for a political deliverer who would overthrow Rome and restore national power. But Jesus came riding on a donkey, revealing a different kind of Kingdom. Jesus is the humble King, the gathering King, the glorified King, and the revealing King. He did not come to conquer by taking life, but by laying His life down. The victory the crowd wanted came through conquest, but the victory Jesus brought came through the cross. As we finish “The Source” section of John’s Gospel, we see that Jesus is the Source of ultimate victory. He conquers sin, death, and darkness through His sacrifice, and He invites us to believe, follow, and walk in the light.
