Güterzug: Auf der Spur des Kieszugs | Bodenwerder - Hehlen - Grohnde - Emmerthal (bis in die Nacht)

In pursuit of the gravel train: After the start at the gravel plant Bodenwerder-Kemnade we were able to film the diesel locomotive of the class 264 (012 - 6) of the Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE) with its GATX gravel wagons first in the middle of the village of Hehlen (district of Holzminden, Lower Saxony), then after a parallel drive when crossing the B83 as well as in the Feldmark in the neighbouring Grohnde (district of Hameln-Pyrmont, Lower Saxony). Afterwards we accompanied the locomotive back to the gravel works and filmed the second part of the train to Grohnde. As a crowning finale, we were able to record the nightly departure of the gravel train on Sunday shortly before midnight through Emmerthal towards the destination Sande in East Frisia for the first time. After a stopover in the Grohnder Feldmark, the diesel locomotive returns to Bodenwerder-Kemnade to pick up the second part of the gravel train. The gravel transport takes place two times a week - Thursdays and Saturdays. Recorded on 19 March 2020.
