Fletcher Jones Story Part 2 Businessman and Philanthrophist
David Fletcher Jones was born and raised in Golden Square, Bendigo. When he died in 1977, "his enterprise was one of the largest clothing manufacturers in the world, with almost 3,000 employed in four factories and in 33 stores through every Australian capital city". He made Warrnambool his home town and the head quarters and manufacturing production hub of Fletcher Jones & Staff Pty Ltd. His primary concern was for people - both his customers and his workers - and they, in turn, were intensely loyal.
