But what if we had a rainy season that lasted all year, for many years? To be more specific, what would a 2-million-year rainy season look like? A 2-million-year rainy season isn't just fiction or imagination. It's possible, and it's happened on Earth in the past. During the Triassic period, we experienced global rainfall for 2 million years. This event changed the face of the planet forever. It could have even led to the era of the dinosaurs. And we call that event the Carnian Pluvial Episode, or Carnian Pluvial Event, or CPE for short. In Thai, it's called the "Carnian-Pluvial Event," which occurred 234-232 million years ago. And the rainy season, two million years ago, may have been one of the key events that led to the advent of the dinosaurs.
