I'm EMBARRASSED To Admit I Did THIS!
If I Hadn't Caught This On Video, Would you have Believed Me? I didn't think so. So thanks for checking out this amazing honeybee rescue for one of Americas Greatest people, A military veteran. #HIVESFORHEROS Mid summer I was contacted about a beehive that had taken up residence in a home nearby. After contacting the homeowner, I took a little drive to see if I could help in the situation. I had the honor to make a new customer and friend, Mr. Jody. After talking, I found out he was a military veteran and had one heck of a story. It was amazing to hear some of his awesome stories of deployment but heartbreaking to hear some about his life after he returned home. Basic story is how his service and commitment to serving cost him a marriage in the long run. While sad to hear, my respect was even greater to see how he overcame the obstacles and may have even found the exact person God intended for him all along. His strength was inspirational and I'm sure he held back more than I could ever carry if I were in his shoes. We planned a day to remove the bee infestation and I couldn't wait to get into it. Jody was selling the home and getting ready for the next chapter in his story so the bees needed to go. When the day came, it was a major family event. Everyone he knows came by and once the honey started getting removed, the bowls and bags came with them as well. But in the end, this was an amazing removal for a great guy and it was my pleasure to serve to someone who gave plenty for me to enjoy my freedom and to share what I love. The HONEYBEE! Thanks For Listening! A honey bee (also spelled honeybee) is a eusocial flying insect within the genus Apis of the bee clade, all native to mainland Afro-Eurasia.[1][2] After bees spread naturally throughout Africa and Eurasia, humans became responsible for the current cosmopolitan distribution of honey bees, introducing multiple subspecies into South America (early 16th century), North America (early 17th century), and Australia (early 19th century).[1] Honey bees are known for their construction of perennial colonial nests from wax, the large size of their colonies, and surplus production and storage of honey, distinguishing their hives as a prized foraging target of many animals, including honey badgers, bears and human hunter-gatherers. Only 8 surviving species of honey bee are recognized, with a total of 43 subspecies, though historically 7 to 11 species are recognized. Honey bees represent only a small fraction of the roughly 20,000 known species of bees. The best known honey bee is the western honey bee, (Apis mellifera), which was domesticated for honey production and crop pollination. The only other domesticated bee is the eastern honey bee (Apis cerana), which occurs in South, Southeast, and East Asia. Only members of the genus Apis are true honey bees,[3] but some other types of bees produce and store honey and have been kept by humans for that purpose, including the stingless bees belonging to the genus Melipona and the Indian stingless or dammar bee Tetragonula iridipennis. Modern humans also use beeswax in making candles, soap, lip balms and various cosmetics, as a lubricant and in mould-making using the lost wax process.
