PhD terminated with 4 top-tier journal papers: a scandal and shame of doctoral education
Hanxin Zhao, a PhD candidate from TU Delft, the Netherlands. With 6 years of efforts (delayed and self-funded for 2 years), excellent work done (4 top-tier papers), shockingly, I didn't get a PhD degree but a termination. The promoter promised to approve my thesis in 2-3 weeks when I requested to change supervisors. Shockingly, after getting my important academic results, full version of PhD thesis, she suddenly broke her promise but decided to terminat my PhD, and request the university not to give me any chance! The whole PhD turned out to be a nightmare and fraud! The serious academic abuse, fraud activities and mismanagement at faculty and university level are a great risk to many other students! Petition to support justice and accountability for this serious PhD scandal: (no donation required): https://c.org/YcHrcx54QY My publications can be checked on Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?... These days, I find Youtube channel- David Stuckler commenting on my PhD issue. No offense, but I find facts are ignored/distorted, some views are typical wrong and have touched the heart of this PhD issue, so hereby I would like to clarify some facts to avoid misunderstanding/confusion, and keys to this PhD issue. 1. Supervisors are not bosses, they are appointed by the university to guide students to achieve the goal of doctoral education (become an independent researcher). It makes no sense to always request students to meet their requirement, especially when facing academic abuse. They can be removed/replaced by the university in some cases. In the end, it’s the university who decides your PhD other than supervisors. 2. Communicating with supervisors and facing academic abuse are 2 different things. An effective communication requires dealing with ‘eligible supervisors’. The 3rd paper is done by myself, but it doesn’t mean there’s no communication with supervisors for 1 year. This shouldn’t be confused. 3. There’s no any violation of publication regulations. The 3rd paper is submitted with my own name with the approval from the promoter after the coordination form the Graduate School (evidence at 4'30" of my 1st video). The 4th paper was also done myself and submitted and finally published after the promoter decided to terminate my PhD. This shouldn’t be confused. 4. Writing an additional literature review chapter is not required in a paper-based PhD thesis (as it’s been done in papers). Also the 2 PhD dissertations (evidence at 2'19" of my 1st video) approved by the promoter donot have a separate chapter for that. The workload of a core chapter of a PhD thesis is equivalent to writing a journal paper (normally takes 1 year). So that’s a clear double standard and potential exploitation. Also, her practice of forcing me to depict that request as ‘my own plan’ in the Yearly Review Form is absolutely illegal. This shouldn’t be ignored/confused. 5. The keys to this PhD issue, simple and clear (everything should be done with basis): 1) A thorough investigation on misconducts of Prof. Zofia Lukszo is required, otherwise TU Delft needs to provide regulations to prove what the promoter did are not misconducts. 2) My PhD was terminated for failing to reach the graduation standard at TU Delft, then TU Delft needs to show the graduation standard at TU Delft to justify their decision. After checking the standard at Wageningen University (another reputable Dutch university) (https://www.wur.nl/nl/show/phd-thesis..., I’m way beyond that standard. #PhDTerminated #PhDTerminiation #PhDScandal #hanxin #tudelft #phd #AcademicAbuse #Universitymisconduct
