В Пещере Армении Нашли Вещи, Которые ПЕРЕПИСАЛИ Историю

In this episode, I honestly separate hard fact from beautiful legend, and show why a land once considered a remote backwater seems to have been written off too soon. Watch until the end: I've saved the hardest part for last. One dry cave in southern Armenia has yielded archaeologists something hard to believe: the world's oldest leather shoes, the oldest winery, and one of the oldest preserved human brains. And that was just the beginning. Pulling this thread, places across the country emerged that, according to the convenient version of history, shouldn't be there. A metallurgical center whose tombs contain the seals of Babylonian kings. The only ancient temple in the entire former USSR, surviving where everything else was torn down. A plateau with stones whistling through holes drilled thousands of years ago. A church carved directly from the rock. And a field of a thousand stone crosses, the only remnant of an entire destroyed stone forest. What I've prepared for you in this episode: 🏺 Areni Cave — the oldest footwear, a winery, and the brain of the planet ⚒️ Metsamor — an ancient factory and the seals of the Babylonian kings 🏛️ Garni — the only surviving ancient temple on half a continent 🌀 Zorats Karer (Karahunj) — "talking stones" and the debate about the oldest observatory ⛰️ Geghard — a monastery carved into a cliff and the legend of a spear ✝️ Noratus — a thousand stone crosses and the memory of a vanished field Sources and materials I relied on to create this video: Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia; Publications on the excavations of Areni-1 Cave (B. Gasparyan, R. Pinhasi, G. Areshyan) National Geographic, Journal of Archaeological Science — on the ancient winery History Museum of Armenia, Yerevan — display of shoes from Areni-1 UNESCO materials on Armenian sites (Geghard and Azat Gorge) Polish-Armenian archaeological mission to Metsamor (Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw) Critical analyses of archaeoastronomical hypotheses on Karahunj (including the work of A. S. González-Garcia) Publications on the Noratus cemetery and on documenting the loss of khachkars in Old Julfa The video is for educational and popular science purposes. Some of the material presented herein are established and verifiable facts (discoveries, datings, constructions), while others are controversial scientific hypotheses and alternative interpretations, presented as versions rather than proven truths. Where scholarly opinions differ, this is specifically stated. We invite viewers to verify the facts with primary sources and form their own opinions. #Armenia #history #archaeology #ancientcivilizations #mysteriesofhistory #Areni #winemaking #Metsamor #Garni #Karahunj #ZoratsKarer #Geghard #Noratus #khachkars #alternativehistory #ancientCaucasus #secretsofthepast #Caucasus #civilizations #documentary
