#allotment #growing #gardening A Week at the Plot, 4 - 10 May 2026 00:00 Broad Beans & Blackfly (Tues) 05:28 Woodchip Mulch Weed Deterrent (Tues) 07:16 Greenhouse Germination & Seedlings (Tues) 11:43 Hugelkultur & Potato Update (Tues) 12:42 Garlic Update... and Scapes (Tues) 14:12 Poly Waffle & Update (Tues) 18:46 Broad Beans & Removing Growing Tips (Sun) 21:18 Gardener's Delight Tomatoes & Side-shoots (Sun) 22:55 Shed Chat (Sun) 26:54 Endpiece Tuesday 5 May - I look at the broad beans and use Grazers G3 Cabbage White, Caterpillar & Aphid deterrent to reduce the damage that could be caused by a blackfly infestation... and look at how things are doing in the greenhouse in terms of our seedlings and germination, and also have a look at our garlic and potatoes... I also have a waffle from the poly; Sunday 10 May - back at the plot and I pinch out the tips of the broad beans, again to reduce damage caused by blackfly, and also will spray them again with Grazers G3 - I think it's working well. I also look at how out strong tomato plants are forming side-shoots, despite them being still quite young and strong, and then a little waffle in the shed. Paul's series 'A Week at the Plot' is his mini vlogs of what he's been up to at the plot each week; little and often, and all about gardening, what's growing, being sown, harvested, enjoyed and much more at our UK No Dig allotment in West London.
