📍 Balıkesir Friday Market | Friday, July 24, 2026 | Current Market Prices and Village Producers Today, Friday, July 24, 2026, I visited the large Friday Market held every week in Kayabey Neighborhood of Karesi district in Balıkesir. The temperature was 28°C in the shade. Our producers and market vendors had opened their stalls, offering fresh vegetables and fruits grown in the villages of Balıkesir for sale. Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, beans, okra, cowpeas, watermelons, and many other summer products were on display. I also chatted with our villagers selling milk and dairy products and learned about both the production process and current prices. Here are some of the prices you'll see in this video: 🥛 Milk: 35 TL 🧀 Cheese: 400 TL/kg 🍆 Eggplant: 30 TL/kg 🌶️ Peppers: 70–100 TL/kg 🍅 Tomatoes: 25–50 TL/kg 🫛 Black-eyed peas: 150 TL/kg 🍒 Cherries: 80 TL/kg I also bought 1 kilogram of cheese, cherries, onions, and potatoes from the market. The fact that the prices of onions and potatoes are still high was particularly striking.
