How to prepare for a CI interview | Tips and tricks to land a lean six sigma job

A job interview for a continuous improvement role (like CI specialist, TPM manager, or Six Sigma blackbelt) has a couple of peculiarities on top of your general job requirements. Most things are pretty common for any specialist role, but understanding what managers look for in a CI candidate can help you land that job you were hunting for. The obvious first is that you'll have to show your CI experience, focusing on sustainable results from projects and how your change management led to adoption of new work standards in daily practice. Then there is this combo that you need to show: be flexible enough to work with the performance excellence program or philosophy that the company already uses, while also being able to challenge performance levels, improvement potential, and the way improvements and performance are managed. What the hiring manager is surely looking for is a combination of analytical skills and change management competencies. You should be able to prove that you master at least one of these, preferably both but that's only really expected in mid-level to senior positions (with project and program management skills also coming in at those levels).
