Today, as part of the Open Garden Days, I visited the amazing private garden of the Knospe family near Aurich, East Frisia. This approximately 5,000 m² landscaped garden was created by the owners over the course of over 20 years. Once a simple meadow, it is now a veritable garden with numerous themed areas, each with its own character. Here you'll find a pond with streams, a bog garden and rock garden, a long pergola with roses and clematis, a white garden, a rose garden with historic varieties, vibrant flower borders, a shady woodland garden, an orchard, and collections of hydrangeas, camellias, dogwoods, hostas, phlox, peonies, and many other plants. Various corners of the garden feature cozy seating areas, gazebos, and pavilions, many of which the owner built himself. The garden was designed by the owners themselves and is constantly evolving.
