Camping is first-come, first-served with no reservations. Campsites are roadside and many offer direct river access. A couple of sites are larger and suitable for groups or multiple vehicles. Most sites include a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and a gravel parking area. 🚗 Facilities & Amenities No potable water is available — bring all water or treat river water. Vault toilets are located at a few points along the corridor but may be closed seasonally, especially in winter. No hookups, dump stations, or showers. Wildlife is common; bear-aware food storage is recommended. 🎣 Recreation The Cranberry River is well known for trout fishing, especially fly fishing. The area provides easy access to hiking, fishing, and exploring the Cranberry Wilderness and surrounding backcountry. The setting is quiet, wooded, and ideal for nature-focused camping. 🗓️ Season & Rules Typically open spring through fall, weather permitting. Roads and facilities may close during snow or poor conditions. Camping is allowed only in designated numbered sites along this corridor. Stays are limited to around 14 days. 🏞️ Camping Experience This is primitive/dispersed-style camping with minimal amenities. Best suited for tent camping, car camping, and small trailers. Ideal for campers looking for seclusion, river access, and a low-cost, natural experience.
