We Spotted a Black Leopard at Tadoba Tiger Reserve

#TheBambooForest #tigerreserve #junglesafari The Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge Review Time Stamp 0:00 Introduction 01:05 Arrival 02:57 Tour of the Bungalow. 08:44 Special Occasion 09:51 All-day dining, Spa, Gym & Swimming pool. 10:28 Safari orientation, visit the jungle. 12:55 Lakeside chat It is the tiger that protects the forest and not that the forest sustains the tiger. “A tiger does not shout its tigritude, it acts.”~ Wole Soyinka. The moment our Indigo aircraft touched down on the tarmac of the Orange City, a sort of thrill enveloped us. The Chauffeur from Lodge was waiting for us with our name placard. We were comfortably seated in a sanitized and pristine conditioned clean car. Mr. Akshay, a naturalist and overall in charge of the property, was there to welcome us with warmth and congeniality. The moment we stepped inside the gate we were offered warm hand towels and a delicious cool glass of lemonade. Walking underneath a canopy of trees and a labyrinth of tall bamboos flanked by various stone figurine fountains, we stepped into the reception. The moment we stepped into the bungalow, we had a feeling of walking into the movie set of, ‘Out of Africa’, I could almost visualize Meryl Streep and Robert Redford sitting on the patio and indulging in an interesting conversation whilst gazing at the sunset. The reclining traditional Charpoy, the bamboo barricaded boundary of the patio, overlooking the Maasal lake further away, was almost akin to the ‘Hatari’ movie scene. The villas have a terrace and private garden an open-air bath. Chalet has four interconnected rooms for families or friends or can be individually reserved too. The bungalows are a different story altogether. It speaks of two identical bedrooms with a closet area and a massive bath and shower space, a beautiful lounge opening up to a patio, and a wrought iron winding staircase leading up to a gazebo. The property's interior is a perfect blend of traditional with contemporary modern comforts as AC, heating, satellite TV, and WiFi. Facilities: There is a restaurant, a dining hall, a library, a souvenir shop, a gym, a spa offering a variety of treatments. There is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool too. Dining: Delectable and delicious gastronomical gourmet cuisine is curated, customized by chef’s culinary creations catering to the guests, and serves National and International surprises. Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge does not serve alcoholic drinks, as Chandrapur is designated a ‘dry district’. We had an interactive video presentation by the naturalist and guide, Mr. Sandesh, who apprised us about the Reserve, the zones and core areas, and about the wildlife we might spot. The inhabitants' habits such as the melanistic leopard called blackie, sloth bear, sambar deer, guar (Indian bison), leopard and Indian wild dog, crocodile & peacock along with the winged creatures making for exciting wildlife sightings. He peppered the information with anecdotes & details. SOME SPECIAL MOMENTS OF SAFARI The pleasure and intention to spot & shoot a tiger(with a camera) compelled our footsteps towards Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Our morning Safari was to start at 6 in the morning. We were comfortably clad in warm clothing. After a hot cup of tea and mouth-watering cookies, we tucked ourselves snuggly with blankets in our roof-covered safari jeep. The sun had started to spread its luminescence on the viridescent vegetation as we steered past cotton fields that looked like the ice creams in a cornucopia of chocolate-colored cones. A guide from another jeep said he spotted the tail of the Black Panther. Akshay took it as a personal matter and decided we would not go back home without seeing some magic & some magic we did see. After sitting tight and twiddling our thumbs in breathless patient anticipation, circumstances proved propitious; lo and behold, the regal, elusive, & mysterious “Blackie”, Black Leopard saunters towards the water body. We were hushed by Akshay, lest we curtail the quenching of the thirst of the ‘Le Fauve.’ It was showtime, we enjoyed the view of ‘blackie’ lapping away the cool water and pausing and looking up periodically as though giving us a great performance. After about twelve lucky minutes Blackie bid adieu & vanished into the verdant fecund. As we moved stealthily forward near a small pond, what do we see! The Tawny Tigress ”Choti Tara” and her cubs. Instead of spotting a crouching Tiger we became awed spectators of fun frolicking and mirth of a mother & her cubs. The way they were prancing about in the pond with a leap, skip and spring at each other was a frabjous & glorious glimpse. Thank you for giving us memories that shall remain cocooned & cherished every time we will revisit the lane of anecdotes Follow Us on Instagram: https://bit.ly/2NPxfJk Like Us on Facebook: https://bit.ly/3feH0vY For reservation email: [email protected] Or call Akshay: 9168666222 #3,4,5
