SDBWC & CPI Juneteenth Kickoff- Juneteenth is a labor holiday presentation
Black workers' fight for emancipation was and is a fight for workers’ rights and for a true multi-racial democracy. Today democracy and the rights of all workers are under renewed and vicious attack. If we want to protect ourselves and our neighbors we have to organize. There are many lessons we can take from our ancestors who fought the evils of slavery and Jim Crow, but it means knowing our history. ICYMI see CPI Executive Director, Kyra Greene's, presentation on June 16th, 2026 discussing the ties between slavery and the oppression of workers–Black and non-Black–today.
