Steve Moriarty progresses to polishing the pavilion of a large Morganite, targeting a finish between 250 to 300 carats. He utilized a 600 lightning lap for pre-polishing, and now for polishing, Steve uses a bat lap with 50,000 grit diamond and WD-40. He shares insights on effective polishing techniques, such as the direction and speed of moving the gem across the lap, and the importance of proper cleaning to ensure a flawless finish. After spending approximately four hours polishing 80 facets, he considers an extra pre-polishing step with the 1200 lightning lap for the crown to improve efficiency.
