We Never Expected This Flooding in Tennessee After Hurricane Helene (2024)
In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene made landfall heading north into Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. The runoff from over 20 inches of rain in just hours caused overflows in rivers like the Nolichuckey River that heads into Eastern Tennessee. The river swept away several bridges, and made travel nearly impassable for many days. As roads reopened, people in this area faced destroyed crops, homes lost, and livestock gone. As of this filming, not all missing have been found. One farmer in Chuckey Tennessee, took to social media as sounded the call for help. In response many farmers from throughout the southeast came with hay, feed, and many other donations both to the farm and volunteer fire department that serves the region. I travel the area and speak with these people, and document the flooding damage, cleanup, and their adversity firsthand. Have YOU been impacted by the 2 recent hurricanes?
