I'm laying a patio with old terracotta tiles! And it's awesome! The warmer weather is coming, and it's time to lay the patio. And Marty McFly was a... how shall I say... special help! 🐾 In this video, I'm sharing all the steps for preparing and laying this patio. With a little elbow grease and patience, you can easily find beautiful terracotta tiles that aren't too expensive and are available close to home. I used the LeBonCoin website to find the tiles, and in just a few weekends, I had enough to cover the patio. I found lots of 20 tiles for €5, as well as lots covering several square meters for €50 or €70. In the end, I arrived at a price of around €20 per square meter (good quality new terracotta tiles cost around €60 per square meter). The dimensions: 410cm wide 480cm on the left and 350cm on the right for a total surface area of ​​17 square meters (and a bit more). My laying method is a mix of several traditional techniques, but I'm not sure it's entirely by the book! 🤪 The terrace I built at my old house hasn't moved in over 5 years. The setting time depends on the weather; it's best to wait for good weather so the lime can set properly.
