PORTLAND'S DEAD MALL - ONE LAST WALK THRU LLOYD CENTER

Lloyd Center opened in 1960 to great fanfare, regarded at the time as the "largest mall in the world". But the 2000s have not been kind to the old mall. The pandemic as well as an electrical fire a few months back only made matters worse and as of now Lloyd Center is facing foreclosure and plans to for future redevelopment. I shot this video on November 14, 2021, paying a visit to the mall and capturing an impression of this once heralded location as it appears in its final days. Very empty. Very quiet. Despite having not visited Lloyd Center much I will definitely miss it when it's gone.
