The A15 motorway (also known as the Autostrada della Cisa) is an Italian highway that crosses the lower Taro Valley and Lunigiana, crossing the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines at the Cisa Pass. It begins at the A1 motorway near Parma and ends at the A12 motorway near La Spezia, directly connecting the Po Valley to the north with the Ligurian Riviera and Versilia to the south. Managed entirely by Società Autostrada Ligure Toscana, until November 1, 2017, its operation was almost entirely carried out by Autocamionale della Cisa S.p.A., which was subsequently incorporated into SALT (ASTM Group). Its entire route coincides with the European route E33. The motorway originates at the A1 motorway near Parma. After the Parma Ovest exit, the route winds along the Taro Valley, passing the Fornovo di Taro, Borgo Val di Taro, and Berceto exits, all located in Emilia. After the pass tunnel, the highway continues into Tuscany, where it meets the Pontremoli and Aulla exits. Finally, the route enters Liguria, where, after a very short stretch, it junctions with the A12 motorway near the Santo Stefano di Magra plain, a few kilometers from La Spezia. At 11.3 euro cents per kilometer traveled, in 2013 it was the third most expensive motorway toll in Italy; this is primarily due to the complex construction of the route, which, having to cross deep gorges and mountains typical of the rugged Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, is constructed primarily on viaducts and through tunnels.
