Hey Everyone, Today, let's discuss the unique geography of Lake Winnipeg, North America's underappreciated and often forgotten "Great" Lake. Lake Winnipeg is Canada's sixth-largest freshwater lake, stretching over 24,000 square kilometers across the heart of Manitoba. This massive body of water sits in one of the flattest regions on Earth, formed by ancient glacial Lake Agassiz that once covered much of central North America. Its shallow depths and vast drainage basin—covering nearly 1 million square kilometers across four provinces and four US states—make it one of the world's most important freshwater ecosystems.
