Jezero Titicaca se nachází na andské náhorní plošině Altiplano, na hranicích mezi Peru a Bolívií, v nadmořské výšce 3812 metrů. Se svou rozlohou okolo 8500 km2 je nejen největším jezerem Jižní Ameriky, ale zároveň největším vysokohorským jezerem na světě. Jeho maximální hloubka činí 281 m, průměrná hloubka je 107 m. Západní část jezera patří Peru, východní náleží Bolívii. Lake Titicaca is located on the Andean plateau of Altiplano, on the border between Peru and Bolivia, at an altitude of 3812 meters. With an area of about 8,500 km2, it is not only the largest lake in South America, but also the largest alpine lake in the world. Its maximum depth is 281 m, the average depth is 107 m. The western part of the lake belongs to Peru, the eastern belongs to Bolivia.
