The Danger Of Getting Everything You Want

Do you give your kids everything they want? Why not? Most parents understand that giving a child everything they want isn't loving—it's harmful. Yet when it comes to our own lives, we often assume that comfort, success, wealth, and approval are the greatest signs of God's blessing. In Luke 6:24-26, Jesus turns that idea upside down. After declaring blessings on the poor, hungry, grieving, and persecuted, Jesus issues a series of warnings: "Woe to the rich. Woe to the full. Woe to those who laugh now. Woe to those who are well spoken of." Jesus isn't condemning money, joy, or success. He's exposing the danger of allowing temporary things to replace our dependence on God. Sometimes the greatest threat to our faith isn't suffering—it's comfort. This week, Pastor Todd explores: • Why wealth can become a false messiah • How a life full of distractions can leave us empty of God • Why temporary pleasures can never solve eternal problems • The danger of seeking the approval of people more than the approval of Christ Join us as we discover why getting everything we want may not be the blessing we think it is—and why true fulfillment is found in complete dependence on Jesus. Transformational Moments: 1. What have I been depending on more than God lately? 2. Have comfort and success made me spiritually complacent? 3. Am I living for God's approval or everyone else's? #Luke6 #PastorTodd #Faith #ChristianLiving #Jesus #BibleTeaching #ChurchOnline #DependOnGod #SpiritualGrowth #SundaySermon ____________________________________________ WE DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO ANY MUSIC Need prayer?
