Unveiling the Epic Rise and Tragic Fall of Kwandebele: A Mind-Blowing Journey Through History EP1
For the next five episodes we as S'Khethu Leso we will be following The Rise And Fall of KwaNdebele. The story dates back to the Ndebele-Boer war of 1893 when the Boer war generals inserted themselves in the affairs of running most mornachs in the then Transvaal. The story looks at how the Boers created chaos at the BaPedi Kingdom, a chaos that affected the Eastern amaNdebele Kingdom for decades. King Mampuru and King Nyabela fourth a long and brutal war against the Boers at KoNoMtjharhelo, with thousands having lost their lives. The Boers took a huge blow when they lost generals and decided to cut AmaNdebele from having supplies of fresh water and food. King Nyabela Surrendered and he was jailed with King Mampuru facing the dead penalty. King Nyabela's subjected were taken as slaves and scattered amongst the Transvaal farmers. This started a chapter of a people without a king, land and heritage. It took amaNdebele more than 6 decades before they could have "A place Called Home". This is a story of how a group of men dedicated their lives to restoring their lives, heritage and land. That story came with a price, some of these men would not see the promise land as the apartheid government co-opted the story and used it for it's very own agenda of divide and conquer.
