Zeckenalarm: Borreliose-Symptome erkennen! Die Gefahr der Neuroborreliose | Borreliose-Behandlung

We humans don't usually have fur as long as dogs, but we too are frequent victims of tick bites. Actually, a tick bite is more accurately described as a tick sting. Every tick sting carries the risk of Lyme disease. This is a group of diseases transmitted by tick bites that can really hit us hard, especially during the warmer months. In the best-case scenario, the bite will itch a little and the skin will be reddened, but it can also lead to damage to the heart and nerves, or even paralysis. #tickbite #lyme #symptoms Cited study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30440... It's true that the tick bites into the skin, causing the pain we feel when we get a tick bite. Afterward, however, it inserts a proboscis that sucks the blood that collects in the new wound. Often, we don't even notice tick bites. A quick bite while out for a walk isn't so memorable that we associate it with symptoms that can appear months later. It's easier to deal with if the tick is still embedded in the body. The tick should not simply be pulled out, as its mouthparts usually remain under the skin and continue to infect. It is better to remove the tick with special tick tweezers, either yourself or by a doctor. The Lyme disease pathogens are only transmitted to the body after several hours anyway, so remain calm and take your time when removing the tick. The risk of Lyme disease is low within the first 24 hours. How is Lyme disease treated? Since Borrelia are bacteria, they can be treated with antibiotics. The exact treatment for Lyme disease varies greatly depending on the symptoms, the stage of the disease, and the patient's age. Strong antibiotics cannot be used in young children or pregnant women, so less potent alternative medications must be used. Therefore, here is another tip for all parents: Check your children for tick bites after they have been playing outdoors. Two minutes of preventative care can save weeks of treatment. What is neuroborreliosis? The name itself gives it away: neuroborreliosis damages the brain. The pathogens cause inflammation of the brain and spinal cord, and in severe cases, can paralyze the entire body. This leads to impaired coordination and a disruption in sensory processing. Patients sometimes experience this as speech or language difficulties, but it can also affect hearing or movement. Some sufferers have also experienced paralysis of the arms and legs or bladder dysfunction. Approximately 3-12% of all Lyme disease patients develop neuroborreliosis, which in its later stages can even trigger meningitis and thus become life-threatening. ▬ About this channel ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ With "Video Visit Dr. Weigl," you've found a current and medically sound channel that explains topics related to pain, medicine, and health in an understandable way, based on facts, guidelines, and studies. ▬ More videos ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Lyme disease: How dangerous is Lyme disease transmitted by ticks? https://bit.ly/Borreliose_Video Life-threatening meningitis!
