Damaging winds and overnight tornado risk: Middle Tennessee storm guide for Sunday-Monday

FOX 17 News is in a Code Red Weather Alert for storms heading to Middle Tennessee late Sunday into early Monday morning. The storms will start as early as 10:00 p.m. in southern Kentucky counties and reach the Nashville area between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. There is a small risk for strong storms, especially along and north of I-40 and west of I-65. Damaging wind will be the main threat, along with heavy rain. A spin-up tornado is a low risk but still possible. You'll need to have ways to get alerts through the overnight hours. Depending on how storms develop into early Monday morning, a second wave of storms may arrive Monday afternoon, mainly between noon and 6:00 p.m. As the cold front pushes east, the atmosphere may have enough time to recover from the first round and produce a second wave. The highest risk would be for those east of I-65. Once again, wind and rain will be the main threats, but a spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out. Storms will clear by Monday evening. Tuesday and Wednesday are looking nice. https://fox17.com/weather/damaging-wi... _______________ Follow! Like! Share! Subscribe!
