The season has changed, Peniche is a different place. The crowd doesn’t fade, rather the faces change. Traveling surfers move to warmer waters, or head home for the year. They are replaced by the same faces every year; a dedicated tight-knit crew of local chargers. Sand bottomed tubes sound inviting and playful — you might especially think so having seen some well-edited clips. But cold water, bitter north winds, huge tides, shallow sand, and incredibly powerful waves mean that 80% of what you’ll see on any given day at Supertubos is in this video.
