T1 Breaks R35 GTR World Record - 6.51 @ 230mph!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a world record pass? From the outside looking in, one pass is all it takes. What you don’t get to see is the blood, sweat, tears, and perseverance the drivers and shops go through to get there. If you have been following our social media over the past few months, you have seen our team has been working around the clock to get NightFury’s new turbo setup ready for World Cup Finals. We went into this race with high hopes for both George and Maurice, but know damn well we can never predict how a weekend will unfold. With that being said, every record ever broken has been achieved through many failures. Round one and two of qualifying were less than ideal with a broken axle, and then a broken transmission. Something to expect running at these power levels with great track prep. The T1 Race team thrashed through the afternoon into the evening hours getting the spare transmission and components swapped in. None of this would have been possible. Regardless of the task put in front of them, our team consistently overcomes adversity to give our customers every opportunity to succeed. After a successful round three and four of qualifying, and a personal best of 227mph for George, we went into round one of eliminations with high hopes. The track prep was on point, and the air was perfect. George has been after the R35 GTR record for quite some time. To see him finally achieve this dream as the time flashed on the top end left all of us with a rush of relief and excitement!
